MSN slow file receiving rates, any ideas?

What causes this? I'm on 8mb broadband and it takes about 10 minutes to download a 300k file! I can get speeds of over 400kbps on newsgroups..

i find if i have been on the internet for long and some 1 send's me summin its slow, but if i just come on then its fast probably alot of users online ?

Getting stuff over MSN sucks. The limiting factor is often the other persons upload speed, but most often it seems to just suck anyway.

agreed it sucks anyway. I've always had slow speeds on it.
