Mud Flaps on Mk1.

After seeing the other post about mud flaps.. Ive been thinking whether or not to get them on mine.

I have this problem of stones flying up off the wheels.. going along the side skirt and hitting the paint near the mesh - causing some chipping.. not to mention the bang it makes!

So, anyone think they might look ok on my car? Or crap? Just for the front maybe.. to stop this happening. I think plain would look best? Can you get original Renault ones or is it best to get some after market ones?

Sparco do them.. but only in certain colours - I think Black would look best tho on mine?

Ive always disliked them.. personally.. but Im starting to think they might be ok?

you can get some universal flaps to fit older renaults from your dealer.they have 2 clamps that lips around the wing so your sideskirts shouldnt get in the way.

Jay, Any idea how much they cost?

Are they plain black? I dont want anything silly like "RENAULT" in white on them!

they come with a renault badge on the rears but you put it on so you dont have to fit it.about £30 a set but i would check with your local dealer mate.

Out of interest, do all mud flaps go on the car the same way? Cus of the sideskirts, some might be a pain?

Guessing Renault ones are probably best?

i think any aftermarket mudflap would fit in the same way apart from the tailored flaps which fit exactly to the shape of the car,eg-they follow the shape of the sill etc so they wouldnt fit with your skirts.

the Sparco ones come in Red, Blue, and White.........shame they dont do black or else id have some on mine
