my 1080p tv



meggerman some 1920x1080 panels are only 1080i like the tosh 47wlt66and 43wlt66 and a few others but as i said most are actually 1366x768

true mate, i was refering to the manufacturers badging things up wrong.

i agree also and i know i dont know it all. i have done alot of research i have infact been reading up on hd and tv standards etc almost evry day for the last year and a half (sad i know lol) before i actually chose a tv and had it arive i have cancled many tvs before this

^^ im not a novice either from much time spent on AVforums and a long time interest in AV/Hif-fi but it still enough to make your head hurt.

im stickin with 720p (1080i downscale also) for the moment ax100 projector in the new year as im only going 90" great picture for £900

it was updated in the fall update :) as was upscalling of dvd's, it didnt upscale befor but it does now but only via vga

Thought it only upscaled dvd's when they are in the HD dvd drive and connected though vga? Correct me if i am wrong.

Set looks ace by the way
 
ta it will upscale via vga from the normal drive too it was another feature in the fall update it seems altho it still wont do it via component down to copyright restrictions enforced by ccs and hd dvd limitation of 1080i is limited by aacs
