my 172 is squeeling !

hi folks,

well, i think my warranty is gonna have to splash out again !!!!

in the morning when i go and start my car (mk1 172) something in the engine squeels, it sounds like the fan belt or something just squeeking as it goes round but has anyone else had this problem ?

could it be water pump, power steering related ?

anyway, its going into renault on tuesday

I have same problem on mine.
Renault wouldnt fix it. They said it was a belt somewhere (prob. accessory belt I think). But they said Id have to pay for it.

Well I really hate them.

i think its just a belt,

im willing to pay for it if my warrnty aint gonna, after all, we cant mess about with these engines matey !!!!!

aux belt, trade price is about 15 quid afaik

Trouble is its probably not the belt at fault the lower pulley that the belt runs on is sometimes a common problem mine went and caused a fair bit of damage so its worth getting that replaced if its the problem. I GOT MINE COVERED UNDER WARRENTY!
