My 172 - The Beginning

  "Navy" N17 TWO
Following on from when I first got this car in December, I wanted some better photos of it before I started to change anything apart from my N.Ire plates :)

I met bucky776 later that night in the bloody snow to buy a Cup Spoiler :)
We were down to 30mph on the motorway for about 20 miles - must have been worth it!
At least I know from then that my ESP was working lol

sweet, no boubt it will be even better soon

is it a requirement to have those plates in NI?

That's the style of the N.Ire reg
Plates are of the legal requirements.

I have seen a plate I would like to get, with french pressed plates
not sure if they are legal or not though :S

you mean style font or 3 letters 4 numbers?

the format...

ie. DKZ 9857

can you not register and use a car with the normal format... such as MK52 etc

nope thats mainland stylee, northern irish is as you say

we can have english plates no problem, you just have to register the car as an import from "GB Mainland" but the plate is no problem.

dunno how the english plates work, but here they all go in series, depending on which tax office the number was registered from, Belfast (*EZ), Downpatrick(*JZ), Omagh(something else) etc they all go in series starting at A through to Y i think and this shows where and roughyl how old the car is! though you may already know this, im pretty sure thats how it works!

i re registered my car from SA51 *** to MJZ **** as it was done in downpatrick but makes the car look like an 07 car which is obv aint. just how it is!

as for comment on irish styled plates...the southern plates are completely different.

"07 d 1111" or soemthing would mean its 07 car registered in dublin, as denoted by the D. Other counties have their own letters, usually the first and last letter of the county name IE Wicklow would be WW and Louth LH and Cork CK etc!

ill shut up now trev ;)
