Not by me, i like the CTR. What i dont like about it is the 'change over' is very smooth, nothing like the old vti civic i had a go in

You just keep it on the boil, its not hard. Highly strung NA, all the way. If you want loads of low down grunt, buy a TD

;)

Agreed. However, I don't think anyone wouldn't prefer the same car, but with the slightly more urgent feel more akin to a 182. It's never going to be a drag monster but it's not an unusual opinion that they could do with a bit more grunt. Every motoring press road test I've ever read says the same thing. So do I, and so do many others. I should clarify that my only experience was a197, and yes I did drive it properly. Getting the back end out on a b-road with the sales guy holding on for dear life, isn't a 10-minute cruise around town ;)

They're awesome cars. They'd be even more awesome with a bit more torque to counter the increased bulk.

Fanboys who won't have a bad word said about their car are annoying.

^ 90% of the time the car wouldnt be driven on the lmit.
Day to day I couldnt live with it for my stated reasons. Wanted to like it, gave it a shot and didnt.

I wouldnt get offended if you couldnt handle a DC2 ;)

re refined, not a rattly rover x

;) :)

Basically yeah. I like my DC2 because it's like the 182, feels like you are going fast. In real terms probably no faster than a 197/200.
A proper hot hatch should be good at everything.

And for the record, I love my mates R27, the 200 doesn;t seem to have any improvements over that.

Suppose thats why i have the best of both worlds. I have the gf's 106 GTI often, and i love that. Old school, not a million miles off RS pace, raw. Its a good car.

as posted above though, slightly damed if they do, damed if they dont. The rattles/gruffnes of the mk2 grated on me after 4 years. I wanted more refinement, the mk3 is a big step up.

Whos not having a bad word said, its got lame low down power and you have to boot it, its a refined 197. Personally love it bit i dont like. Im not some one looking at it through rose tinted glasses, but theres a reason the 197#s are so successfull, i bout my 200 based on a 197.

so in summary most people on here hate the 200.

what is the gearing difference between the 197 to 200 then?

I don't know the ratios, but apparently the first three gears are lower. Hopefully the overall gearing in top is at least the same or higher.

does a 197 have a front spliter? the chasis is much stiffer bum is nicer, i prefer the nose but many dont

Typical. If you remove the chip fom your shoulder, there's been very few people -ve about the 200.

I still can't shake the idea of an AG200 rolling on black. My only issues would be the fake tailpipes and the horrific front end. I know it will be epic on track though, and I'll be sitting inside it so f**k the looks.

I just found them very uncomfortable for every day use, i love the standard seats and made them yellow, 850 is alot to spend on seats if you will only have time to track it a few times per year

Do the Recaros still fall apart due to 'fair wear & tear' just like the 182 capstan? Remember kids...softer plastics doesn't equal better engineering ;)

Probably, but i cant see it when i'm sat in them ;)

Why do you only need Recaro's for the track?

They are fitted in LOADS of road cars these days

sure but i found them a pain in the arse to get in and out of for an everyday car, the standard hug you loads aswell but its personal init :)

I'd put money on them being 100% the same, and will fall apart in a years time
