My air con / fan isn’t working :o(

I noticed just now when I was driving my car (172 Mk2), that when I turned the air con/ fan on to blow and cool the car, that it isnt working so I wondered if someone on here might know what the problem is..........

Its either the fan motor is gone, or the control circuts (frontend) is faulty.

Dont want to sound patronising, but have you tried manually changing the fan speed up to full ?

Thanks for replying KDF and yes I have tried putting it up to full and there is no movement of air through the vents at all. I thought I would ask on here before taking it to the garage just in case anyone else has had any problems and it seems that nobody has.

I have just had this done on my car. Appenrtly it was the control unit in the bulk head. At first they thought it was the fan.

resistor pack in the heater box - under the osf scuttle trim

It turned out to be the rheostat that needed to be replaced and this little part cost £83 plus VAT to buy
