Hope you get a result regarding fault, but sadly this will be your NCB gone neverthless, and your premiums affected accordingly for the next few years :dapprove:
Alan, though I was not even in the car, my policy price has gone up 50%.... Just brilliant.
100% his fault, nobhead. hope its not 50/50 for ya...
Regarding NCB, i have 13 years protected and hopefully it will go him at fault but no doubt it will affect me in some way, after all they always ask if there have been any claims in the last 5 years, they'll find a way to sting me i'm sure!
Protected no claims is a waste. And a bit of a con imo.
A week ain't so long Alan hopefully it gets done to a high quality and ou get it back to enjoy it again.
Did any airbags go off btw?
i was driving the wife's car when the lorry crashed into us, he admitted liability and my premium only went up £15, hope it all works out in your favour

It's not a waste but it's not bullet proof either. You still have to declare that you've been involved in an accident for example, so your premium will go up regardless of your NCB condom
Fact is Alan will now pay more next renewal for something that he wasn't to blame for regardless of wether he protected his NCB or not
surely it will go in your favour just from this picture, the bits of glass ect are no more than a foot over the line. what's he trying to say, you stopped at the junction, looked both ways but failed to notice a huge red van a foot in front of you and pulled out?!
My premium wasn't affected when declaring a non fault incident, FYI.
And a lack of protection would likely increase that premium tenfold further still (if it were to be settled 50/50 or worse). It's a no brainer for anyone driving expensive high-group cars.
But your paying extra to protect your no claims too. I'm only going off what my uncle told me to do (manager at admiral) and I've always had relatively cheap premiums. If I do have a crash then I'll be no better off if I had protected my NC than when I don't.
It may work out better for others if you do protect it but IMO its a con.
Your paying to protect a NO claims (which is a stupid concept in itself) so you get a discount next year if you don't have an accident yet every year you still have to give details of any accidents you have (regardless of fault) which bumps your premium up anyway.

Having lost your no claims will have a MASSIVE impact on your premium unless you're blowing the right people lol. Especially if you're in your early to mid twenties. Depends on the car and insurance group but the difference from having say as little as 2 or 3 and having none can be thousands of pounds on some cars. Especially with 'specialists' like Flux who underwrite with Red Star, you'd be lucky to even get insured with no-no claims
It doesn't matter how far over or how fast. He was reversing. His insurance company will tell him to go away and just pay out.
A reversing vehicle doesn't have less right of way than one going forward. Just being realistic!
