My Clio has a creaky arse! Please help!

My 182 seems to be creaking when cornering sharp from the rear drivers side. Kwik fit had a quik look for me when they regassed the air con and said it could be the shocks or springs (it has the harder cup pack springs).
This creak is driving me up the wall, any suggestions?

Do you have a rear strut brace fitted? that caused a creak in my old car

If it's the rubber stops on top of the struts, just coat them in grease. Sorted out my squeek when I fitted a rear strut brace

Nope, it's a standard 182 with both cup packs and no further mods - no strut brace (yet!).

Getting the car mint standard first but this creak is doing me in!!!!!!

springs tend to creek/squeeky when theve had enough,

Ok, so are we talking a fortune to have springs and shocks replaced? What would be a reasonable price?

the dampers are about £50/ea and the springs aren't going to be that expensive. the whole lot's fairly easy to fit. could spray the damper bushes with WD to see if that sorts it temporarily - eliminates one possible cause quickly anyway

yeah thats not a problem - he sorts several clios on here and is a master reno tech so knows his stuff - even worked on vees as well

find out what it is before you buy any bits though - could equally be a sticky h/brake cable or the beam bushes (WD again)

could be the boot mate... my tailgate doesn't seem to shut right, and if i put a bit of rubber around the lock mechanism between the boot and the tailgate the creaky arse is no more.
