Hi Friend, I've had a similar problem, Nothig to do with the engine but a kinda wobble at the back like the back wheels are loose. Mine mk3 phase 1 172. This is problem is the wheel bearings, the go at around 40k miles. Might be worth checking?

ahh right thanks i will check that. however it kept jerking but after 2weeks or so the clicking noise also occured, so now everytime it jerks i also hear clicks from the back....??

Probably the fuel pump at a guess, it would be the sensible suggestion as a problem with the fuel pump could cause the jerking.

does it do this from cold, or hot, or both ?

when were the plugs last changed, are the leads in good condition, what about the dizzi cap and rotor arm are they ok ?

BRUN: it jerks when its cold...for eg in the mornings when i take off it jerks as soon as i put the foot down. but when its been driven for 20minz or so it gets less jerky but still when its hot and its been driven for abit it still jerks slightly but in the cold its worse.

not sure when the plugs were changed well i got the clio like last year in nov which is quite recent at 65k millage.

what are the dizzi cap and the rotor arm???

  Skoda Fabia vRS
the dizzi cap is the plastic thing that the leads connect to mate, the leads from the spark plugs, this has metal contacts inside which can wear out, the rotor arm is inside the dizzi cap and spins around, this again has a metal contact which can wear out, they are usually pretty cheap to replace so its possibly worth changing those and cancelling it out, especially as most people dont ever change them, so they might be buggered

LOLZZ it was just a loose connection in the front. thanks thou for ur help i will bare that in mind when this sort of thing has again.

the loose connection was in the engine bay. all i did was take out the spark plug leads from the engine and blew it abit just to clean the inside of the leads and then forced the leads back in the engine so it was tight and now its doing great.
