PSU over heating is a possibility. But TBH you'd need to give more details for anyone to be able to diagnose it.

How does it happen?
Is it after a certain amount of time?
Any error message?
Does it reboot itself or just power down?
Is the PC overclocked?
Etc

it just dies, its not after a cirtain amount of time, somtimes it can be on for 10 minutes then other times it can be on for a few hours. there is not error message or any type of warning and does not reboot its self afterwards. not sure if it is over heating but i dont think so as the tower is on top of the dest next to my monitor like so

im not sure what over clocked means so i cant really say yes or no to that lol.
ive had it for about four years and when i first had it i mainly used it for music production but now is mainly used for the internet.
hope this helps.

it doesn't have a trust power supply does it??

as my mums pc is doing the same and has only started doing it since i had to replace the tagan power supply.

Open up the case and clean all the dust out of the case. Especially around the proccessor and heatsink area and around the fan.

Dust collects in there and basically keeps the heat inside which raises the temperature and the computer will shut down to protect itself

over clocked is where u buy say a 2gig cpu and run it at 2.2gig

you could run software to use full cpu usage and if it resets / dies quicker, then it could be fan on cpu etc thats broke. Try lookin in bios just after it dies to see what it says for cpu temp

psu could be failin

after that could be owt ,mother board faulty etc

i took the covers off the tower in the end and the thing was caped in dust. and the cpu heat sink was think with it and obviously not dispersing the heat so i cleaned it all out and its worked fine since. cheers for all the help
