My dilemma!

Fletcher

Atm i have a 5 year old Mk2 172, which i share with my girlfriend on 78,000 miles, and rising very quickly,[around 16,000 miles a year] and is completly standard, bar clear side repeaters.

Here's my dilemma........ i was planning on buying some coilovers either some Blistein, or H&R, turinis, set of PE2's, splitter and maxogen. So i would be looking at around the 2K mark. But lately i've been tempted by the prices of the 182 trophys.

What would you do, put the 2K as a deposit towards the trophy, or buy the parts for the 172?

Cheers Fletcher:)

yeah but surely putting mega miles on a trophy would be worse? i'd keep the 172 and make subtle mods

Have a drive of the Trophy and see if you think it's worth the extra cash. Can't hurt having a newer car (and sexy Recaros!)

Lol deb buy those ones for sale you know you want to.

I'd get the trophy. It'll still have warranty, and doing those kind of miles surely on a Renault it'll be very handy lol.

trophy imo will be worth more in the future (only 500) but depends on if ur gonna do high mileage in the trophy?!

Lol, yeah I'm very tempted but I really shouldn't! :o

If your doing that many miles trade it in for a cheap TDI and buy a trophy for the weekend.Whats the point in wasting all that money on a low mile trophy and then stack up the miles

In 3 years you'll be in the same boat as you are now

Well most of the miles on the 172 are payed for from my girlfriends work as she gets 48p per mile.

Selling the 172 is not really a option, i'd rather keep it then give sell it to a dealer for next to nothing, or struggle trying to sell it privately.
