My engine hates the cold?

  Clio Mk3 1.2 Turbo
Been having this strange issue lately with my MK3, when I start the car it's ticking over but wont fire up straight away? This has happened twice now since last month... But most of the time it will start straight away. Had the car since April and have never experienced this issue before, so either something is on it's way out or it just takes longer to fire up with this cold???
Wondering if anyone has had this happen to their MK3, before I take it to Renault :disrelieved:

Id do the plugs and oil first, good 5w30/5w40. On a 1.2 would cost around £30 and could solve the issue if the oil is too thick/spark plugs are old. If that doesn't change anything, coil pack?

Most engines hate the cold - my bosses 55k porsche didn't want to start this morning.

Hmmm it started fine yesterday at -2°C, today was fine also. Thinking it might be something to do with old spark plugs as you said... I'll have to check them and possibly get them replaced. Thanks!

Replace them yourself, would probably only cost you a tenner for NGK's in Euro Car Parts. Easy enough to fit too IIRC.
