I heat wrapped my williams manifold and downpipe!

ive never done any heat wrapping before so i think it went very well!

ive done it so i can do away with all the grotty heat sheilds because they look hideous!
plus it may have some small benifits! so i thought what the hell!

the heatsheilds in valvers look dirty though!

plus i really like the look tbh!

the manifold was due to go in the car when the weather looked up so it was just sitting around, £10 mod.

Looks good :D where did you get the heat wrap from ? as thats rather cheap.

I need to do the one on the ST as the stainless one creates so much more heat under the bonnet, unlike the standard one which has also got a hideous heat shield.

I like what Foxy has done, might give that ago when I get time to take mine off and wrap it.

you need to paint it to protect it and to stop it acting as a wick if it gets oil/pas fluid on it. if you don't its a massive fire risk.

really?? most of the ones, if not all of the ones ive seen have never been wrapped, i though the stuff was speciallt develeoped not to catch fire under any temperature??

ebay mate, came with a few metal cable ties, but not nearly enough, 10m of the stuff was arount the £8 mark!

the paint like on f0xys stops fluid being absorbed by the wrap, the wrap doesn't set fire all the fluid trapped in it(if let unprotected) is what sets fire. i happened to matteh when his power steering started leaking on it.

surely it would just burn off?? without setting the wrap on fire,
much like it would burn off if there was no wrap on it what so ever??

im guessing everyone else just sprayed it with clear stuff, hence why i thought it wasnt sprayed
