Hello intelligent people.

I'm wanting to buy a computer for my house, but don't have any fcuking idea what to look for. I want to surf the net, download Music, and be able to send/receive photos of cars to and from autotrader.
Laptop or desktop (flat monitor), not really bothered, but my budget cannot exceed 350-400 sheets of my hard earned.

HELP!!

Ive got a dell, came in a box, no installation chap needed, took half hour for me to plug in, was dead simple, and is superb. Would recommend one fella.

to be honest mate, what i did when i wanted my first pc, looked on pcworld etc, to look at what expensive pcs spec had, then went to local pc supplies and got them to build me a similar spec'd one, but tailored exactly to my wants and made sure i didnt pay for anything that i didnt need, ie. modem / floppy drive s**t like that

Yeah, but the wiring of the motherboard is the only "hard" part. Besides, I'm sure he's got a mate that could through it together.
