Clio 182 FF inferno
I bought my Clio about a year ago it was March 2012, since then a lot has changed, when I bought it it was a 100% standard Full Fat 182 with both cup packs

When I bought it the exhaust looked a bit rotten and knew it would need replacing soon, I took it to The Fast Show 2012 at Santa Pod then on the way back I had a play with an RS1800 powered Ka and my exhaust shifted and started blowing like mad! I got it home and I bought an exhaust the next morning from Ktec and it arrived the morning afterwards, the exhaust I decided on after listening to loads the night before was the KTR ultra Performance SuperSport with decat

Couple weeks later my mate carbon wrapped his bonnet and boot lid on his RS1800 powered Sport Ka and with the left overs he wrapped my front badge which actually look quite alright

When I was there I bought a piperX panel filter for my standard air box
On the way back I met a few mates down at Pitsea flyover then as I went to leave I went to start my engine and It wouldn't start an I heard a small click noise from the bay and I knew it was gona be Cambelt , and had to get it recovered back to my work place in Romford

The next morning I went down to work and took the top engine mount off to look at the top of the belt, for a second I was over the moon so happy because it hadn't snapped but then realised the belt must have jumped
Considered either just swap engine over or get the head rebuilt because I have the history of the engine and it was a very low mileage engine so I decided on the head rebuild
So then about 6 weeks later off it went to Engine Dynamics a renault engine specialist in Braintree
Once he took it all apart he see what happened, it is the most unlucky timing belt failure he had ever seen I'll upload the pics and explain it bit by bit in his words
A bolt must have been over tightened from the factory or a flaw in the bolt, it broke and somehow went upwards possibly aided by the aux belt and ended up wedged up in the exhaust can pulley, the bolt originally came from the crank seal housing
The Bolt that cause the problem
It then wedged itself in the circled area causing the belt to jump and then bent 12 valves
Also destroying my cam pulley in the progress
Andy at Engine Dynamics then fully rebuilt and refurbished my cylinder head, and done the obvious stuff like belts and pulleys, he also replaced my leaking PAS rack and I got him to put a performance map with over run on my car
August 2nd I picked the car up
then went to get it taxed and tested where it passed with flying colours
That night I organised a meet at graffiti tunnel with a couple of mates
Then that November my gearbox went pop so I took it off the road to repair it and thought I'd change a few things 5/6 months later the gearbox has been repaired but its still off the road because instead of changing a few things I've changed a lot and spent a lot too lol haha but it due to come back on the road in a few weeks 11th of May and I'll be doing another new that night at the graffiti tunnel if anyone is up for then PM me
A few of the things I have changed(not all as I have a couple of very busy days fitting everything before its on the road
I bought a Ph1 air box(going to be painted) and a piperX filter insert for the air box
Took my inlet and other bits off to be painted
Once the grille was painted I refitted it and added a sticker to the small recess
My exhaust melted my trims so I've replaced them with carbon ones and painted the rear plastic bumped trim
Painted my dash strips and steering wheel insert
Polished my throttle body
Got a civic type R aerial
Black 197 style renaultsport rear sticker instead of standard badge
Rear wiper removed and sealed properly then blank fitted
Genuine Carbon front badge to replace my old wrapped one
Ordered a smaller front plate
my inlet, engine mount and throttle body was painted Crackle Black and my engine hooks and oil cap were painted satin black I fitted back to my car today along with my SFS Silicone bend
Bought some black pro race 1.2s from someone on the forum with new toyo tyres
Bought some strut braces front and rear from eBay, thought they were black but when they arrived they was anthracite so they've been painted satin black too
(Satin black pics coming soon)
Much more too come as I don't have pictures of everything yet
I'll keep this updated regularly
