My new 182.

  FF 182
Just got it yesterday (friday) and set about giving it a clean today as it was manky. Took it for a spin and got some pics done :)

Well happy with it. Interior is spotless, paintwork is damn good for its age with just a couple of marks and usual small stonechips.

Jobs to do:

Cambelt etc etc within a week or 2 as previous owner was unsure when it was done:S
New oil filter and oil change
4 new tyres. 2 crappy but new ones on front, and some not so new exaltos on the rear.
Lower it
various bits and bobs

Cheers Scott. Thats first on my list! Will probably get my old mans place to do it. Theres a bloke who works there done a clio v6 not so long ago. But i'll have a phone around some specialists this coming week and see what sort of prices i get hit with, not that bothered really as i sort of budgeted for getting them done.

So, had the car nearly 2 weeks now. Things ive learnt about it. 1. Its a FF with both cup packs, happy about that, its missing the splitter but i'll get the skoda one eventually. 2. It has the Trophy Turinis, very happy about that, that means i can lower it a fair bit without worrying about rubbing?? 3. Got it up on the ramp today to have a good spotch about underneath, and all seems fine for a 81k 182 (touch wood) :).

Friday, its geting the belts, pump and dephaser done with some needed fresh oil in. Need some new tyres next, as its got some new *ahem* Wanli's on the front :dead: and some dodgy looking exaltos on the rear, sidewalls have bigger cracks than Dot Cottons face:S.

Dying to give it a good beasting, but been to scared as the belts need doing badly:eek:.

Got a few small bits to add, my first mods for it ^^. Mainly erm a alu foot plate, battery cover and SS bolts for the engine cover. Got loads i want to do but cash is a bit tight atm :(

Didn't want to start a new thread, so i'll just update this a wee bit.

So, had it nigh on 8 months now and done a fair bit mechanical wise. List of main things i've had done since i got it inc:

1. Belts, Dephaser and water pump done in May this year along with fresh oil and filter
2. New Dampers f+r along with some lovely Cooksport springs (June 2013)
3. 4 New Hankook V12's (June 2013)
4. 2 new ball joints (August 2013)
5. New K-Tec Centreline exhaust catback (Nov 2013)
6. New pas pump and fluid, along with new box oil and service, Skoda splitter and new headlight washer jet (Dec 2013.

Runs pretty nice now and is used as a daily, i don't do many miles tbh, probably about 4k in the time i've had it. Can't think of anything that i want or that needs doing (touch wood) mechanically for the time being. Next year i'll start adding some finishing bits to it i guess, such as TPI bolts for the Turinis, new sprayshack bullets and get the Renault badges done anthracite i think. Then in the summer, get some of the stonechips and other blemishes sorted, oh and the Turinis refurbed.

Anyway, spent the last couple of days giving it a decent prep for the winter. Washed, clayed, tough prep, then 2 coats of tough coat, followed by a coat of DJ Supernatural Hybrid. Will get on with cleaning and sealing the turinis tomorrow. Would like to get the trim done aswell.

Not one for throwing up loads of pics, but i thought why not after the winter prep.

Not the best or imaginative photographer by a long shot, as you can probably tell :)

Dunno why it added a thumbnail there?

im a ph1 man myself tho this is stunning! looks a different car when lowerd could see my self in a ph2 shortly :)

I have lots of time for this thread! Your car looks so much like mine!
Consider spraying your 2L bullets in anthracite then going (carefully) over the lettering with a silver touch up pen. Halfords do them for a couple of quid. Really stands out when paired with the anthracite turinis.

Now you've had the belts done too and can get used to hooning around in your new personal rollercoaster, put your hands on an RSTuner and the 98Ron map. You'll be pleased with the results. :)

Also some silver vision indicator bulbs smarten it up a bit more.

I haven't taken a decent photo of mine for a while now. Here's the most recent one.

Look familiar? :rasp: I had to check your plate in panic to make sure nobody was taking mine for midnight hoons.

Thanks fellas! Spent a fair bit since April i must admit, but was totally worth it and don't regret spending it one bit!

Love how it looks atm with it being polished, smells nice too :) The flake pop on the Ti ones looks amazing in the sunlight.
msremmert they do look very similar lol, your looks sweet! I'm in on the bullet group buy so will be adding them. Wouldn't care, but i bought a nice 2nd hand pair to do myself, but they would probably end up shite  And yep, silvervisions, rstuner and 3/4 plates are on the agenda along with the other mods mentioned before.

Can't wait for this ppi claim to come in :p

Amberlamps You're doing all the nice popular mods which really improve it in subtle ways. Gonna be a minter once you're done. I really need to update my progress thread.
You should make a thread in the projects section, even if it just use it for when you come to sell it, it gives potential buyers the chance to see how much attention and love you're giving the car.

If you're handy with a soldering iron stick some new SMDs on your dash. Sorry I keep linking pictures to my own Clio in your thread but it's just easier. :rasp:

@g172, cheers, and i will be hitting you up in a couple of months for some discs+pads ;)

@msremmert, i do have a soldering iron but i'm hopeless with it, did read the guide a while ago iirc, but its beyond my capabilities :S And yeah, think i'll just update this as i go along, all be it slowly :) You should do yours too ;)

A couple of subtle changes have occurred over the weekend. Ordered some Silvervisions for the front and rear lights, plain 3/4 plate for the front and plain standard size plate for the rear. Also got my new bullets from the Spray Shack group buy, so had to get them on asap.

Its now pretty much how i want it. Only thing left to do is tidy up the engine bay a bit and paint the inlet manifold, fuel rail guard and cam belt cover. And waiting for some decent weather to give it a full detail and machine polish.
