What clutch and flywheel you running mate? To be honest we'll see. It may end up staying longer than my original plan at this rate. I bought it on a whim and glad i did. Being the first "proper" diesel i've owned unlike my landy's etc i'm shocked how well it goes vs not really using fuel.

I've got a Sachs dmf and Sachs race clutch. The dmf lasted 2days until it rattled again. It only rattles when up near the redline so the exhaust drones it out lol

They're amazingly frugal for the power you get

No i ended up going down to Wollacombe for the weekend so had to postpone mate. Currently booked in for the 25th but i was thinking earlier i may try and pull it forward to this weekend if i can. Needs to be done asap.

Good car, and certainly a good buy! I always thought that they look like they're trying to hard, though. So not for me.

~Yes, i'd map it.

Big fan of this, I've just got a new job doing 300ish miles per week and looking at these. Very smart looking and got a lot going for them.

Would you reccomend it? I'm considering keeping my 172 for fun as well, as it's worth pittance.

Yes mate to be honest I'm quite enjoying it. (for what it is that is) Brilliant on fuel and quick for what it is too. it all depends what you are looking for really..

Also she is now mapped and I'm happy with it. 196/316 on the dyno lottery. Started with a healthy 153. Its silly, the traction control light loves to flash even in the dry..haha

When mine was just mapped I had a play with a 330 coupe, I had the edge slightly from 60 to 140 magic beans.

Don't smash the granny out of it everywhere and you'll be fine mate.

Im too old for that now..

What's it like pace wise compared to the 330? Enjoying it even more now its mapped?

They couldnt be any more different tbh. The 330 never felt quick to me although i guess they are.Such a lazy engine but great none the less. The 330's are deceptive. You have to watch the speedo.

The Leon is just a torque monster.

Thanks mate, well I guess if I keep the Clio I've got the fun side covered.

Is it a nice drive generally and what sort of MPG are you getting?

  172
actually quite like these.. could do with something like this myself as i do 350ish miles per week for work and then do 500mile round trips a few weekends with going back and forth between the north east and south

About 45 around town and 60 on a run. Basically i brim it for about £70 i get 550 miles of mixed driving.

Now its mapped i would say its more fun than a clio in alot scenario's as the powers always there. It's just no b road blaster or track car like a clio is. I've always had petrols and swore by them but this has converted me. But then im getting old.

Well it's still here. Almost 10,000 miles later and my first spend -

To be expected after mapping it though to be honest. Without the map I could have easily gone without this. My experience so far is diesels are cheap to run. Even compared to the likes of a 182. I'll await the car the bite back and break now..haha

Only just seen this! Surprised you didnt get a 320d bud, also surprised you mapped it

I know. I'm getting boring and old and sold my soul to the devil.

Still, I'll have a house soon and then i can look at "fun" cars again.

Diesels are cheap to run yet you've had to fork out £365 on a DMF/clutch??

That's a lot of petrol.....

That's because i had it mapped. Exactly the same would probably happen if i mapped a VAG petrol.

He's saved nearly half that in tax lol plus a clutch for another car would be at least £100 if he had to do it so its not that bad.

Exactly. The same miles and my 182 needed a gearbox. That was £500+. Thats alot of diesel.

He does have a point though, my Clio diesel cost me more in repairs than what it would of done to have a sport. That wa just parts aswell!!

As i'm more indecisive than a indicisive thing i'm thinking of keeping this again. Now I know of some LCR alloys not far away but they're amphamacite. Do you think they'd work on mine?

I think they would look great.

The design of them is certainly a lot better than what it comes with standard too.

Well here is one with the same bumpers as mine but with a little drop-

I'm not sure if anthracite will look a little try hard on a smoker. One of my fav oem wheels though.
