hey guys i finally managed to find a nice phase 1 172! picking it up for £3495 only done 59k miles and been really looked after inside and out. and a couple of owners more than i liked but all used cars could be a risk. so roll on next friday when the 1.28v gets sold and the 2.0l 172 comes in to play lol but some of my own pics up then. whatyou guys think?

i prefer this shape clio also all the false flaw ive buit for my one at the moment is exactly the same shape so i can just swop the parcel shelf around and the false floor. roll on friday ill get some proper pics

why what the hell happens over 400rpm.. is that where the most power is then on it looking forward to getting this on friday.

Trust me mate you wont be dissapointed with the mk1 172 - I have one and nothing touches it - especially around corners. My mate has Civic type r and we both are baffled on how my car is faster on accelaration

I owned a ph1 172 for over 3 years and plenty could touch it. lol They aren't that fast. :dapprove:

And in these clios, the real action starts at 5k rpm. It's not the VVT but just where the engine hits it's sweet spot. Probably down to dodgy mapping.

ph2 172 is still faster than a 1.2 by a long stretch. ph1 may be lighter but alot of them will be getting a little bit long in the tooth now.

All sarcasm aside i doubt you would be able to tell any difference on the road between a ph1 172 and ph2 172.
