my new clutch

  megane 285 sport
hi lads, just wondering, ive had me clutch done with new oil on my mk2 172sport, the clutch pedal is no longer stiff, its quite light and the biting point is no lower. just wondering if i need a new clutch cable or need to a adjust it, does anyone know how to adjust it, any opinions welcome, cheers, ryan

Clutch cable automatically adjusts however its always good practice to change the cable when you change the clutch.

i read some other threads that if you unclip the cable and pull it out as far as it will go then press the clutch pedal and then pull the cable back out and refit, it will reset or sumet. so do you think that its the clutch cable causes the high biting point, edde

see this has always foxed me, i dont see how it is self adjusting, not questioing it, just dont understand it. its annoying as with old cars you could pull the clutch cable through and have a lower bite point. my clutch is ok e.g no slipping, but the bite is soooo high, like at the very top of the pedal, what can i do? change the clutch?

There always at the top of the travel.

You need to get your head into the footwell to see how the tensioning is done realy to understand.

i have done before and understand how it looks etc, but dont see how it adjusts itself.

thing is having it at the top of the travel makes it bloody hard to downshift smoothly coming up to corners or junctions etc.
