My new printers taking years to print out

Well not actually years, but a long time between each job:dapprove:

Say if I want to print out a few car ad's (as I have been) it's taking ages between each one, the print queue had about five in it just now (I have deleted each job once the copy has come out as it said not all of it was done, but it was)

What's going on ??

Printers a canon ip4500 which i've had since saturday.

Don't know the exact printer, but maybe turn down the level of quality a bit?

If you don't want to go any lower, try reducing the amount of ink used per print, I find on most printers that even turning it to the lowest, the print is great. No loss in quality, just less ink on the page so quicker to print and quicker to dry. Which is another option to turn down: drying time. Its to make sure the next page doesn't smdge the one just printed, but on lower ink, you shouldn't find any smudging anyway.

Start printing after last page is spooled? or Start printing immediately?

or is it printing directly to the printer?

+1 Managed to convert my boss into epson lover now :approve: all the HPs are are on their way out!!

Canons are pretty gd though tbh

I was told that epson were crap & given reasons.
This one came out top by some pc mag, if it's good enough for them it's good enough for me. I was told by a few that canon are good.

Right click on the printer and click Properties then the Advanced tab and make sure the spool is set to "start printing immediately"

They both should be selected, sounds like that isn't causing the problem, so that's one off the list..

How is the printer connected? do you know if it is USB 2.0?
