there are loads on ebay..but very few that actually have the alcontara in the middle..meaning just the bolsters etc need trimmed..

most evo 7/8/9 have just cloth on the edges and the horrible material in the middle.. and the woman whos doing the trimming...says recaro alcontara is over £100 per sq mtr...ouch!!

im pleased with them anyways :)

Careful!

Make sure they fit before spending any money trimming them. OEM Evo Recaros like these don't fit with aftermarket subframes! The bolt spacing is different. I suspect this is deliberate on Recaro's part to make people buy new seats.

Trophy / 182 ones are not OEM specific and so no such problem with them.

keep the Recaro logo for def, pose value. Might as well have bought some super supportive Rage buckets if you were trimming over the logo. lol.

ahh..this could be a problem!!...

possible to drill new holes or any way round about it at all???

thanks for pointing that out..they havent started trimming them yet..and ive only left 100 deposit on them until they are trimmed and ready...so all is not lost...i just hope this can be resolved..as they are like new!!

there is always a way round things you might just need someone handy with a welder/metal work etc.

maybe get a clio subframe kit and take it from there??

gt gaz...thanks..

surely they wouldnt be that awkward...these are definately recaro TRENDLINE's...some other evo seats dont have the pull out extension etc...these do...??!?! so many questions!! :)

i have the trendlines in my cup (bought aftermarket)

mine have the pull outs also. In the subframe kit you get x2 mounting brackets that fix to the seat base, then your sliders fit into these. I suppose i can see where redcup is comming, these being mitsibushi o.e recaros. Renault just purchased them aftermarket form recaro...

think you'd have to just bite the bullet, and get a recaro subframe kit to check!, but like you said imo cant be that hard to make them fit anyway lol

I had a pair of Evo ones before I bought mine aftermarket but ended up selling them.

I can't recall exactly what needs doing but I'm fairly certain that it wasn't as simple as drilling new holes.

Best to get the subframes then have a look.

I really should have taken some photos, sorry.

now im worried before i even start getting them trimmed..

interesting thought...they have since been in a transit van for a brief period!!??...(i mean..properly put in as drivers and pessenger seats)

I also got a set of nearly new Evo 6 seats off e-bay recently in an attempt to improve my Vees interior. At around the same time I saw some Momo RS2 seats as another possible option so am in a dillema as to which ones to fit ? so comments welcome.

The Momo seats are VERY light and comfortable, the Evo seats are very snug and (apart from being blue) are superb - they would look good in a blue car but my Vee is black ...

I have opted for the Cobra sliding subframes and will simply fabricate some mounting plates to re-align the bolt holes. These subframes also have mounts for the seat belt pre-tensioners and worked out at £52 each plus VAT from DT's.

Cant you just get a welder to make you up some subframes, ok so they may not side back and forth, but at least they'd fit.
