Well here it is. Finally picked it up. Had a few teething probs with it. The twin 45s were gunked up for it wouldn't rev above 4krpm. That cleared up today after a good thrashing. The newly fitted 4 pots work great.

Sorry about the mobile cam pics

Current spec is:
1600cc Toyota 4AGE with Weber 45 carbs (140bhp)
Custom manifold and exhaust
Willwood 4pots
LSD
Mocal oil cooler
Close ratio box
Coil overs all round - Pro set up

Future additions will be a Blacktop 160bhp 4age engine. Some more cooling aswell.

Had a little problem tonight when the headlights went off lol. Will re-wire then tomorrow.

looks a beaut mate, trying to get my dad to but soething along the lines of this, and then put me on the insurance!

i dont get the answer i want though!!

I want to get a Caterham or Westfield next year not sure whether to get bike or car engined at the minute. How much was it? How much is the insurance? Is 140bhp enough? I know they weigh next to nothing but does it scare you when you put your foot down;)

I'm looking at the recent one they've released that uses an MX-5 as a donor.

I think that'd be spot on.

I'm sure 140 bhp is enough...probably near 250 bhp/ton?

You'd need to spend a few more grand yet to get your car up near that Mark LOL

LOL i'm 18 so insurance is enough lol.

It cost me £4500. Then i had goodies like an LSD fitted.

140bhp will do me.

Power at Flywheel (BHP) : 140
Weight without Driver (KG) : 700
Power to Weight Ratio (BHP Per Ton) : 203.21
0 - 60 (Secs) : 4.93
0 - 100 (Secs) : 14.77
60 - 100 (Secs) : 9.84
Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.79
Terminal Speed (MPH) : 96.63
Drag Strip Quarter Mile (Secs) : 13.39
Drag Strip Terminal Speed (MPH) : 99.81

They slow down after 70 due to having the aerodynamics of a house. I still showed an M3 driver a clean pair of heels off the lights today.

looks spot on mate. i love it. rather jelous! is a megabusa on a different level to this then? whats gonna be the real difference between a bike engine and a car engine in terms of advans and diadvans?

Bike engines are alot faster. You have to drive them v hard to get the best out of them. They also have a shorter mechanical life expectancy. Clutches go etc etc. They are more suited to track work.

Whereas mine is great round town and will happily go along at 30 in 5th.

Very true:)

I was going to throttle body mine for 3.5k. But I have decided to save up and get something for around 8-10k next year. I saw a 170bhp 2.0zetec caterham for 9k or something mad like a megablade for similar money.

Waitey I will PM you in a few months for an update.

Yeah sure. I won't be tracking it for ages yet. RWD with an LSD is way different from FWD with no LSD.

nice car mate! I have a westfield myself currently running a 155bhp crossflow but I am just finishing rebuilding a 2.0 vauxhall which should be running 200bhp!
Brilliant cars and so much fun!
Hope you enjoy!

may aswell do it now while i have no commitments. they do keep me perminantly skint though.

  MKIII 138
you sure its 700kg without driver ???? lotus elise S1 120hp 1.8 is like 725kg

i have thought it was a bit more than ariel atom weight range i.e 450-500kg
mind you the megablades are much lighter engined so this may explain the increase in weight

  Turbos.
Circa 670kg is about right for a Westie.

Sounds great, you've got more bottle than me, i had a Westfield chassis but sold it as i thought i couldn't cope with the compromise! I do a lot of miles though...

Keep us updated, i'd get get ITBs tbh!

The standard blacktop 4age engine has a 20v head and ITB's giving it about 160/170 bhp which isn't bad for a 1.6.

  Megane Trophy
Im sure you are well aware of RAW engineering then.
We own the green stuart taylor locorage demo car. 165bhp red top 4age engine!

Now in the process of building of building the uks first round tube, bike chassis camber compensating dax rush with a s2000 engine with throttle bodies! 250bhp mm mm

And Bike engines arent all that i must say!

You want a jap engine in it. There are hundreds of tuning options from japan for then. I can have a supercharger or a turbo next lol

  Megane Trophy
K series is the best engine for a 7, shame there so unreliable

xe is heavy but for 5k can have a 250bhp monster!

Duratec is mental in the csr and our special one that cosworth built us

I just like supercharger whine. M y mates got a charged mk1 mr2. Sounds the nuts!

  Elise/VX220/R26
looking good, I'm thinking of getting a megablade or R1 tiger if I get shut of the VX next year and have to get a more sensible daily driver

BTW should weigh about 500kgs thats roughly what most caterfields are

  Megane Trophy
that westfield will be rougly 650kgs id guess

minimum caterham race car weight is 510kgs, thats totally stripped, cage adds weight yes
