I think you may want to turn around and collect your sense of humour, it appears to have fallen out of your pocket.

I left in the car, can't bother to go and look for it...
Even if it I had it, don't think I'd see anything funny in those two words :)

anyway, I'm a person that's unhappy with the power of my new car, try to help :approve:

^Yeah,.. If it's at the wheels, it's prob about right. 112.45KW = 150.8 bhp, so there's no problem there mate. Try it on V-Power after a few tankfulls, would be interesting to see the difference, if any.

So, being serious now....

If its making about 155/160 at the wheels, then that would equate to about 185 at the fly? ish?

So its probably down a small bit but not a lot.

Remember, the old 172's only ever produced 160-odd horsepower at the fly.

  Renaultsport Clio 197
i think 150 at the wheels is about 170/175 at the fly ?

The lowest i've seen at the fly (onthis forum) is about 185/190.
people seem to get book figures, and some of them even more.

Also, could low quality fuel, air temp and road surface affect this much?

Air temperature will make a MASSIVE difference for sure.

fuel quality will but not a lot and the road surface should make no difference to the engine.

will try tommorow with 100RON super-unleaded and see the difference on the graph...
the only problem is that 100ron fuel is available in just one station in the whole country and costs 1.3 pounds per litre

so hopefully a custom 95RON map from Henk should make a difference

Your car's only designed to run on 98 RON max (correct me if I'm wrong), so a higher than 98 ron fuel wouldn't add any power, and like I said you would need to use a higher ron for a few tanks before seeing any change (again correct me if I'm wrong).

Furthermore I think you lose more bhp via the transmission than you think bud.

Have a sprint upto 60mph on an A road against another 197 to see if you get left behind. I can't see a problem to be honest. Chill out.

  Renaultsport Clio 197
john, you are right about the fuel...
but in my country there is only 95RON unleadead and one station with 100RON super-unleaded... 100ron will probably have 98octaneS or less ..
I already tried that fuel before the prices went up and the difference was massive.
It even poped and burbled from the exhaust (and it never does that on normal fuel). And the mpg was much better.
But just want too see the difference on the graph

and btw, why can u only tell the difference after a few tanks? The ecu has to 'adapt' to the new fuel or what? I think I did see the biggest difference after a full tank, but still even half a tank will do something?

Yes the ECU needs to adaped back to it 98 ron map. Yes these sort of things needs to be done on a cool night no air con on no windows open correct tyre pressure

  Renaultsport Clio 197
I know all that, but I am only concerned because all the 197's here are pushing 195bhp and more at the fly... and it's not just on one RR!

I think i have misplaces 10 bhp (or more) somewhere

RenaultSport recommend 98, but they say the 197 can happily be run on 95.

  Renaultsport Clio 197
but u havent tried our 95RON.. i swear I could drink it and not feel ill!

Some studies last year show that we have the worst fuel in the south and southeast europe - pathetic!

i'm just telling you what renaultsport has told us.

edit - if it is so bad, just use the 100ron.

... i thought the "oh dear" was funny !

Anyway.... Poor road, 95 Octane fuel (why????) , HOT. These are a good combo for ruining performance

I've never tried running 95. It WILL run fine for day to day use, just do'nt expect performance with a car mapped on 98

  Renaultsport Clio 197
does anyone read what i write ?

95RON is all I can get... and I just can't afford the 100RON at that price.
1.3 gbp per litre... that's 6 pounds per gallon - 70+ pounds for a full tank.
That's a lot of money ...at least where I come from ;)

i just went by this post tbh... since you said you were using it tomorrow for another go. plus £1.30 doesn't seen that expensive either.

seemed from that post you could get it quite easily.

Probably best to go to a big branded petrol station for your 95ron like shell or bp if you can. i imagine that could be better quality. how much is 95 ron then per litre?

Germany ?
I see your point there !
We in Holland pay 1,75Euro for a liter of 98.. luckily i have the Suzuki Alto for shopping

  Renaultsport Clio 197
seb, as I said, it is expensive HERE :)

Montenegro is a small country, we are POOR compared to the UK. And 1.30 gbp for a litre of fuel is a lot, even if I was "rich". Believe me, only few blokes with a ferrari and some merc amg's fill up with 100RON :)

and u know how terrible the mpg is in a 197 :dapprove:

What is your barometric pressure over there?
Did you upload the latest B600 software version on the car ?

The PA must be used on a level stretch of road. We will adjust the software smoothing a little bit because the curves look a bit too flat.

  Renaultsport Clio 197
i will update the software tommorow henk, and then I'll try !

Don't know about the preasure but I'm at sea level...so shouldn't be a problem.

ps Henk, i'm awaiting your reply to my e-mail about a custom map.

my first e-mail grifon@cg.yu isn't working so I'm sending you from bojanpetricevic@yahoo.com

cheers

i have updated the softvare wersion to B600 and it fixed the cold start issue ! FINALY no kangaroo !

and I did a PA with 100 super unleaded and it showed 5hp increase..altough the temperature was a tad lower...5 or 6 degrees lower than last time.

agree with Eckascliovalver, New 197, cheap fuel! Whatever. I'll stick with my 6 year old cup and 99 ron fuel..

The weight you put in for the dyno results seems a litte heavy. i thought the 197 weighs 1240kgs, dunno if that would affect the rstuner or not.
