My windshield washer jets are spraying any washer fluid on to screen. Any ideas?

When I do use the washer function, a very little amount of water comes out the end of the jets, but just falls down the bonnet. A bit like a not quite turned off tap.

I’ve tried to use a pin to clear any blockages but nothing came of it.

the pump definitely works as I can hear it when I’m using the function.

any idea what it could be and is it a big job / expensive one?

Any fluid? lol

I think there is something inside the fluid bottle that can block, a filter of some sort. Have a search on here as I think it's a common fault.

Prop just need new washer jets.

Just did one on MX5 earlier this year. Bit of a pain as windscreen scuttle needed removed.

I think there is some kind of valve in the jets that can get gunked up.

It’s likely a blocked or damaged washer hose or nozzle rather than the pump since you can hear it working. Check the hoses under the bonnet for cracks, pinches, or leaks, and inspect the spray nozzles sometimes replacing them fixes the issue. Flushing the reservoir can also help if there’s debris. It’s generally a small, inexpensive DIY job; hoses and nozzles are cheap and easy to replace.

This was 2 years ago. Hoepfully OP has unblocked them by now?!
