My xenons....

  RB FF 182
When I bought my 172 one of my Xenons was yellow, a few days later it went pink and then stopped working completely!

I got a set of D2S bulbs off ebay for about £20 each (bought a pair so the colours matched)... decided on 8000k and they've been awesome. Far better than £80 each or something crazy from Renault.

They'll probably be ok for a while but I'd be prepared for it to stop working soon.

go on hids direct and buy a matching pair for £35

good quality bulbs

as mentioned you must have an old and a newer bulb, they go pink over time

Changing the bulb is piss easy, just pop the rubber seal off the back of the unit, then turn the starter pack to get to the bulb.

How the bulb comes out is dependant on which model headlights they are though. It'll either be two metal clips or a black plastic ring retaining the bulb. Undo either and it just slides out.

Ok mate thanks, just need to know if the bulbs on the link above are ok now. As people said they paid £35 and these are £17.50 which seems cheap :S

They look exactly like the standard bulbs but I personally have never ordered from them so no idea what you'll get quality wise.

Daft question but how do you get Xenons?

The full fat RSs come with Xenons, most people fit these 'projector' style headlights onto the Cups and also non-sports, however in theory to actually be road legal you need the washer jets which includes an extra motor on the washer bottle and the auto levelling sensor that attaches to the rear torsion bar (we dont have them already fitted on Cups) with obviously the correct wiring loom to connect it all up.

Most times they are fitted people don't bother with the washers and levelling, and if they have a problem with the plod or MOT centre just refit the standard halogen clusters temporarily......

They do look a lot smarter and I have considered doing the mod to mine. I fitted Osram Nightbreakers Halogens (+90% brightness) that are legal to use on the roads and are a nice crisp white light. example: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OSRAM-NIGHTBREAKER-H7-HEA......
