Nankang AR-1's in the wet

Has anyone had any track experience of these in the wet? I only ask as I only have one set of wheels for the track car at present and although I only do track days in the summer, it can still be wet (obviously) so I need a set of tyres that are decent in the dry but won't kill me in the wet. My original option was the NS2R's in the 120 compound, but can't find anywhere with these in stock and the 180's aren't meant to be great in the wet, but probably still better than the AR-1s I would imagine?

As much as I love internet hear say im ideally looking for opinions of people who have actually used them if at all possible

They are awful. Well.. I was probably carrying to much speed through the fast corners at blyton and span many times. Could be down to my rubbish diving! :weary:

I always use Federal 595RSR as my drive to and from the track and wet tyre, they are not great but miles better than Dunlop direzza's and 888's

I recently did 30 odd laps on AD08rs in damp conditions. No standing water to speak of but thoroughly damp. I did 1 flying lap on P-Zero road tyres and went faster. That to me, is enough to indicate what AR1/R888R/DZ03 etc would be like.

Yes I preferred the less "wobbly" feel of the AD08r but the road tyres offered far more modulation of the brake/throttle pedal and, subjectively, more outright grip.

Very interested in trying R1Rs though.

R1r's, as I may have previously mentioned are the only tyre I consider running in the wet now for me nothing else comes close
