Need a serious answer as not sure on what to do for gearbox

My gearbox on my car feels grindy and rough on my Clio 197

Do i use a normal gearbox oil or do i have to use a specific oil?
I'm not very in the know about this sort of stuff so i thought i'd ask

Call opie oils, they should be able to advise you on what to use

I would use specific oil for tha car mate. Im sure someone else will be a long too fill in the best oil blank.

75w- 80 Gl4+ /Gl5

you can use 75w -90. if the box is crunchy i can 95% gurantee oil change won't help.

Are their certain gears that cruch when engaging or is it just the whole box that feels rough?
Are the mounts ok?

When I say clunky I mean like dry nothing's smooth....I've now got the oil I got some 75w-90 manual transmission oil.....I'm now struggling to find where to put it in lol

You need to drain the old stuff out first mate.

The filler cap is on the front of the gearbox

On a 197 it's I think the battery and fuse box plastics needs to come out.. The airbox is at the back joe

Or if you can borrow a ramp pump it in
