Hi jack, welcome to ClioSport :)

You can get 17s on there, but be aware that it will need to be lowered to look good. You can either do this with lowering springs to replace your standard ones (looks better but doesn't ride as good as it could) or you can get upgraded dampers/shock absorbers as well (give better control but cost more money).

re: the speakers, 6x9s aren't generally regarded as 'good' I'm afraid - but they will do a job until you can get something else. If you have no rear speakers at the moment then I would suggest not bothering with putting them in and instead go straight to getting a sub and amp.

This all depends on budget of course... :S lol

You can buy new or secondhand, depending on your budget, but I shouldn't think they'd cost more than £100 tops - £50-60 is a figure that comes to mind straight away but you'd have to do some research to see what's out there! You'd also need to decide how low you wanted to go - lower can look cool, but tends to ruin the handling of the car as it's bumpier. It all depends on what you want! Have you looked in the Clio media forum to see if there's any in there that you like?

You could do the work yourself but you'd need all the right tools and a couple of hours probably - a garage shouldn't charge too much or you might even find someone local from on here who might be interested in doing it for a little bit of beer money? :)

i live nr manchester, burnley any 1 local please let me knwo if you could do this work! thanks

You'll need wheel of the right fitment that is 4x100 PCD with a center bore of 60.1mm

You'll also need the right offset to ensure the wheel don't rub most are the right fitment though.

Best way to sort the speakers IMo is to strip the internals panels out and tape the new wire in place to stop rattles and do the job correctly.

Lowering easy takes about 2 hours 3 if your've never done it or much mechanical stuff before. I'm about 10 miles south of Chester if its any use.

I'd recomend changing springs and shocks though to preseve a good ride.

iv just ordered a new cd player its a sony cdx-r3350 50w x4 max output power. i want to have 4 speakers wired up to this all on there own channel i want to wire my exsisting door speakers up which should be easy. I aslo want to add to 6x9 speakers in the rear which would be the easiest way to do this. thanks alot for your help. I dont have any rear speakers atm!

would any 1 have a speaker wireing guide? for me to follow to wire my rear speakers up? i dont know how i get the wires to cd player through the dashboard????? please help

The best thing to do is run the wires under the carpets in the driver and passenger footwells, then tuck them under the plastics at the bottom of the sills.

I'm not sure how easy it is though, you may have to take panels off to get the wires to the back of the car!

thanks for your reply m8 i will run the cables like you say under the plastics but i dont know how i run the cables through the dashboard to the cd unit do i have to take the dash board out??

thanks

Where is the CD unit going?
If it's going in the boot then you'll need to run the cable from the back of the headunit, under the carpet/trim, and to wherever it is in the boot.
If it's going in the glovebox then you just run the wire between the back of the glovebox (you may have to cut a hole out of the plastic liner) and the headunit.

You should be able to feed the cable to the back of where the headunit is, then pull the HeadUnit out to connect what you need to, then slide the HU back in.

You need to open the passenger door, then kneel down outside and lean into the footwell to poke around and see what room there is behind the dashboard!

my cd unit is going where my old tape player is. i have to run cables for my rear speakers as i have no rear speakers atm lol. i have got a new head unit its a sony sony cdx-r3350 50w x4 max output will i have to run the 4 cables into the block behind the head unit?
