Need Help - K&n Air Filter

Hi All

Need some advice, i need to know the best way to clean the K&N Air Filter on my induction kit without buying a special cleaning kit?

Mine is looking a bit black too. Think it is best to use the proper cleaning stuff as it comes with a oil to coat it with after cleaning

I just need to give it a clean for the service not that bothered about buying the special kit because i am upgrading soon and having a custom install done by hill power!!

if you clean it and dont oil it you may aswell not have an air filter on mate, they need the oil to trap the dirt

buy the proper kit or dont bother cleaning it

Looking at changing my induction kit soon, as the 57i kit does suck in hot air.

there only 9 quid from halfords all in..worth the money i did mine the other day.looks like new again...

Can you not mount a duct to direct cool air to it?

I could build a heatshield, but its not goona have a good an affect as the carbon fibre cover on the viper
