Need help please

Got a 182 cup and I went to take my alloys off today so I could clean the inside of them.

I got the 4 bolts off but then noticed there was a big ass nut in the middle.

What size socket do I need to take it off? also Is that the only thing holding it in place after?

If you could let me know that would be great!

REALLY want to take them off the car to clean them proper.

Mines not a cup but all I have to to is remove the locking wheel nuts and the wheel come off, are you sure the middle nut needs to come off to get the wheel off?

I rocked the wheel back and forth like they do in tyre places and It would not come off.....

Does yours have the nut in the middle?

It does have something in the middle can't picture it but Im sure its not related to the wheel!

maybe it had rust on the hub, it will come off els, & you dont need to take the Castle Nut off, as that releases the Driveshaft,

must be very stuck on coz you dont need to undo the big bolt!

Think what your decribing is called a hub nut, if you were to undo that you'd ideally need to torque them back up.

Which wheel are you trying to get off?

^ hub nut, its the Castle 1, iirc its 30mm

Oh and once off you should replace them for new ones.

went to have another look and it looks like a bit of surface rust, nowt big. So hows the best way of getting the wheel off then?

Just undo the four wheel nuts, don't undo the large centre nut. If you have messed with the centre nut then get it to a garage to get it torqued backup correctly.

Spray some WD40 in the centre hole of the wheel tonight where the rust is!

once you get it off put a tiny bit of grease round the rusty bit so you can get it off in future.

give it a kicking,, they can be a mare sometimes its jetwashes that do it.
jag wheels seize on big time takes out 6ft bar to lever the feckers off

Just sprayed some WD in there now.... just hope the rain dont get rid of it all.... s**t HOUSE RAIN!!!
