Need help very fast please :D

hi im new to here,
heres my problem i have a clio 182 cup, basically the exhaust gas monitor warning light and the preheating / electroinic fault light stays on on my car whilst driving,
and when i start the car it will rev to about 3000 revs what could be the cause of this problem please help will be much appreciated thankyou.

That happened on my 172 when i first bought it and just dumped a tank full of regular unleaded in it!!

i think it may be the lambda sensor but is there anyway i can check this.
the car lacks abit of power also cheers.

Sounds about right, not sure how to check it other than to replace it. Or get it on a machine for a read?

I believe it is your lambda sensor, due to if the lambda sensor isnt picking up any readings from your exhaust its going to have the warning lights on!

I just had a new lambda sensor put on my car as every now and again it would give me warning lights!

All is well now though just take it to a garage and just ask if they could check the lambda sensor? i doubt they would charge and if if they was to it would be small just for a check on one thing. Well from past experiences it has seemed that way

If it is a lambda sensor making the car idle at 3000 revs, it'll be the pre-cat one, the post cat one doesn't do anything other than throw the engine management light up on the dash when it finds a "fault".

well the car sometimes will rev to 3000 when i turn it on but sometimes it wont and just sound normal, but will still be very lacking power.also if it is the lambda sensor is it best to get it from renault due to being a genuine part or is it ok from other dealers? cheers
