need help

My mk2 RSi went awful wrong today, the car starting to shake like a hell and less power :S. I was trying to get home asap and I made it but very slow. I check the engine, I can see the intake manifold got a crack and spark plugs are black and bad. Another went wrong is the A/C, I press the button and nothing happen, it is the pump gone or bad wires??

what can I do??

how much the parts cost??

Not sure mate, doesnt sound good though. I know the coil packs are a weak point but dunno. Ask on www.coupeclub.co.uk as well they have more 1.6 16v engines on there!

The intake manifold is crached are you use the idel would be terribale.
Sounds like the coils have gone as I've said there seperate from memory on the 1.6's just like the 1.2's

So I need new:
intake manifold
4 new spark plugs
Coils ??

Remove the engine cover.

Find the spark plugs

The leads which go to the top of the spark plugs come from the coil packs.

I get the parts tomorrow and will it damage anythings if I remove the intake manifold off the engine??

So I need new
1 new intake manifold
4 new spark plugs
4 new Coils

Nope so long as you unplug all you need.

is the intake deffo leaking? if its not dont replace it. it may just be a manufacturing flash.

Did you not get any warranty with the car from the place you bought it from Giles ?? not sure if this would be covered under engine and gear box if they gave you any that is .. you havn't had it that long though have you ?? I think I would be going and having a word but thats just me, hope you get it sorted

Inlet manifold broke very unlikely. proberly just a coil gone down what make are they denso ( the better ones) or sagem ( the rubbish ones)

Where can you get the better Denso ones from ? I've got one going down and i've going to replace the lot, would rather get the better ones rather than have to change them again 12 months down the road.

Though mind you £60 for 4 off ebay I don't care instead of £34 each from renault.

The inlet manifold was ok....thanks GOD!! lol It was just a mark on it but I didn't know. I have put 4 new spark plugs and 4 new Coils and I have to wait & see what it like tomorrow.

Spoke to Renault dealer near me about the A/C not working, they said could be a pump gone or need more fluid. So I have to take it in soon.

It was one month warranty from them but I'm going to ring them tomorrow to prove if they really put 4 new spark plugs, cambelt change and A/C fix

I woul;dn't say so there rusted from the looks. Thats doesn't happen that quick usualy.

i replaced my plugs today and old ones had been in for a year and a half/20,000 miles and wernt rusted like that?!

I only done 1000 miles in my RSi in 2 month and spark plugs shouldn't rust like that:S

you sure they put new ones in or just say they did mate?
welcome to the rsi club this is just one problem of many lol
when the car is running just pull the connector to the coil pack off one at a time if the car cuts out that coil pack is ok if it makes no differance or slows the engine noise down thats the one thats no good or on its way out more than likley be just one down maybe two at the most ive had this problem before on mine

I find out what wrong with the A/C........no air and must be a leak some where :S
