I think the newest MAX is called 3ds Max 2008 now, or are you just gonna go for 9 anyway? i havent researched into how different it is.

Could be worth looking on EBay in the US. I got a copy of brand new full retail sealed Windows 2003 Server for about 40% less than it is here. Ive had another retail version of something, could be adobe acrobat that was again 30-40% cheaper.

Obviously doing it this way could take some time though to make sure you find a reliable honest seller etc ..

Google product search again in the US works well also. Some online companies will ship to the UK.
