nero 9 wont burn avi to dvd?

I need software that will burn a .avi film to dvd so i can watch it.

I have tried so many different ones and most contain virus's or some messed up s**t that doesnt work properly.

Any help appreciated.

You want to burn the avi file onto a dvd to play or you want to convert the avi file to dvd files ( vobs ) then burn ?
