Network/Router Port Forwarding Problem

Right ive had this very weird problem for sometime with my router.

Im attempting to play Football Manger 2007 over the internet with my mate. I have a Netgear DG834 router. Football Manager requires ports 10093 + 10094 to be open both TCP and UDP, so in my router ive done this to allow it both inbounnd and outbound.

However, when my mate trys to connect to me, he connects to my computer, then my internet connection seems to die. My itnernet will go down, and my computer will sort of freeze for 5 seconds then allow me to move for 3 seconds then freeze again etc... Basically the internet just dies. I dont know whay this is happeneing.

Anyone have any idea about something else I may be missing?

Basically ive followed thie guide:

http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netgear/DG834/Football_Manager_2006.htm

(the above is for fm 2006, but the ports are exactly the same for 2007)

Any ideas what else I may be missing which is making my internet connection die when someone conencts, ive got no other firewalls etc running

Have you configured your pc with a static ip address and then configured the port fowarding to send all traffic to this address.

I can probably help you with this, but you'll need to do a screen dump of your routing config and email it to me.

PM me.
