NEVER BUY A CLIO FROM SUTTON PARK, COV. !

Hi all.

I dont normally winge but i feel its my honour to slate a garage off!

I recently bought a clio cup off my good mate, the car is a little over 1 year old, hence i have 2 years warranty remaining. The car was purchased at SUTTON PARK in coventry.

Driving along a few weeks later, i had to brake quite sharp for someone stepped out. To my shock - the seatbelt came off the B post, straight out the hole !

I took it straight to the garage expecting some concern and maybe an apology, but no, they just took the car off me and said theyd take a look

An hour later i was told to come and get my car as they are not fixing it under warranty ! They believed that bolts dont come loose and that id loosened it !!!!!!

I called renault customer services but they couldnt help as they have to go on what the dealer tells them !!!!!!!

Nick at the dealers told me to take my car away or it would be removed!!!!!!!!

I had to drive it home with no seat belt and do it myself, took me 5 minutes !!

Tried trading standards and watchdog but no replies as yet !!

Beware clio drivers.....NEVER BUY A CAR FROM SUTTON PARK.!!!!!

i got mine from there and they missed the front splitter off as they said they didnt know it came with it! They ordered it after I gave them the part number as they couldnt find it and after 6 weeks it came.

But then they wouldnt give me any compensation.

  A blue one.

id probably recommend anybody to check this, when we laid down some power cable from the engine bay to the boot we had to undo the bolt at the bottom of the seatbelt to get the cable through (passenger side) and the bolt was loose (like finger loose).

Pretty scary that somebody else had a loose bolt on the seatbelt....what were we saying about renault build quality.

Interesting. If theyd admitted that it had been like that from the factory you may have been able to sue them. Thats probably why they treated you that way.

If you were in the USA youd have a lawyer pushing for a multi-million dollar lawsuit right now.

My Mk2 v6 came from Sutton Park Cov., and I have to admit, they were very proffesional in there attitude to customer care, sorry to disagree, but just my honest opinion.

Personally met the head service manager of the Sutton Park motor company when I had a complaint with Sutton Park (Sutton Coldfield). If his arrogance is anything to go by all Sutton Park dealers must be the same.

Funnily enough/ Scarily enough, the bolt at the bottom was completeley off on my car, when they removed the plastic trim !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Im sure they pushed me away as they could smell a liability law suit in tow !!! and maybe admitting it could have worked loose would have meant a very dear recall on all clios.

I will never recomend this garage to anyone......

Made a right scene in front of everyone when i went back for my car, felt much better.....!!

It was the service manager that was dealing with me too at the garage, his name was NICK DEVEY, or Nick Divy as i called him.

I work for jaguar and managed to find a few people that worked at sutton park and knew him. They confirmed that he was a kn*b, and slippier than a snake...!

Funnily enoughhe was "at a meeting" when i went back to see him...!

Cheers for chatting everyone by the way, my anger is slowly diminishing...

I would maybe contact a solictor anyway. Get then to write a threatening letter and you might get some compensation to keep you quiet.

contact the garage again and tell them that your not happy about the whole situation and that you will be allerting the local news papers to their shoddy work, i mean if you had not noticed and something had happened someone could have been seriously injured or worse!

im sure the local rags will be intrested in this type of thing.
