what is that and where is it located ?

I believe it is one of the feeds to the airbox (i.e. standard airbox) - people remove one to get more noise.
I have no better idea than that as I never play around with the car.

I'm having the same problems mate, tried everything except lambda sensor, but i got no lights on dash and been told no faults will be stored if no lights on/been on. But not giving up on it as i love the car when its running right!

lambda sensors are about £95 each thats why iv not gone that far yet as im still waiting for the new coilpack and leads

i borrowed a mates coilpack to try so was a cheap fix...ish! I've tried plugs, leads, injectors, coilpack, not filter yet but think if it was it would do it right through the rev range? Guessing now it is a sensor, but with never having the eml on im in doubt?!

well my eml light comes on. i bought a cheap code reader but it shown no code so i just turn the light of. its starting to piss me of lol

Not having a go mate but if you had taken the advise of others, and taken it to Renault or a specialist to get a proper diagnostic, you would have had it fixed by now probably and at less cost.

Mine ran like shite, was the lambda. They hardly ever log fault codes too

does the ecu need reset after fitting the new crank sensor ? like disconect the battery for a hour like a trusty vauxhall

Bosch lambda's are just over £60 off eBay iirc and Renault use Bosch as standard I believe!

Its probably a Lambda mate, mine was shagged, the car ran rough as, and no fault codes (just the light on the dash)

Changed it and it was sorted. £60 off eBay for a Bosch one.

It will be the pre-cat lambda. The post cat one doesnt do anything IIRC

well the annoying missfire is gone. i checked both lambda's today to find the 1 in the manifold was rattling and the 1 in the cat was just zip tied up as i have a decat with nowhere for it to go so i swapped the lambdas over and all is well. so i ordered a new lambda and a 200 cell sports cat

Pre-cat lambda, I had the same problems, bought a new one and fitted it and it fixed the problems straight away. 70-80 miles later the emissions light went off.
