Afternoon All, Ive just taken the plunge and bought a brand new 172. Can anyone help with a couple of questions, does the car come with the shift change light or is that just a rumour and does the car run ok on normal petrol or do you need to use the Super unleaded?

Hi,

Yes they do have a shift light. You will see it at the bottom right hand corner of the instrument binnacle.

Personally I dont know why you would want to run it on anything less than Optimax, as Renault recommend 98ron fuel. Its up to you, but I never run on anything else. SUL is 97ron. Obviously you can use any decent unleaded fuel.

shift light isnt an optimum shift indicator its an ouch change gear now light

petrol i run it on what ever comes out of the pump i can get 50mpg on normal 95 ron stuff so its not all bad

Got it in dark blue, although i dont take delivery of it until the end of Sept.

Yes the 172 comes with a change light down the bottom right of the instrument panel, Best to run it on 98ron if you can although it will run on 95 (had to run it on that once cause I couldnt find a shell garage)

Be carefull or you will loose your license..

hello youll love the 172 ive had mine a year and it still makes me smile when i go out for a blast in it.

That blue looks gorgeous and a lot like the Valver blue.

And paddy your red one looks good as well dude. Bit like the strange red colour the valver comes in Naples Red
