New Build Sneaky Peek (In Progress)

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
Just a few pics from my efforts tonight, still a work in progress over the next couple of nights probably, I can't believe how much quicker the PC is, I think a lot of it is to do with the new Zalman CPU cooler.

Its an Intel Core2Duo E6600 Overclocked to 3.0GHz (which I may increase now, or may be going to Quad Core anyway). 2.0GB 1066MHz OCZ SLI-Ready Memory, 400GB Seagate SATA HDD, EVGA N680i Motherboard, XFX 768MB 8800GTX (1900MHz).

well the graphics card, memory, cpu, motherboard, hdd etc were bought a good few months back and cost around £1300 at the time. What I am doing now is just switching to the new NVidia case and adding all the cooling fans into the case, 6x 120mm fans, Zalman CPU cooler, Zalman Fan Controller, 2 x sata leads, 1 x floppy lead, 1x floppy drive, 1x lightscribe DVDRW and case were around £330 approx.

I have used Zalman in the past for all my cpu's really do the business, although most of the time way over the recommended weights for the cpu's. I think if you transport it, you should take it off or at least don't transport it vertical.

Lovely bit of kit, good spec too. Was wondering what SLi ready memory is though...sounds like a gimmick to me...

lol, its not too bad actually, quite reasonable considering there are 7 x 120mm fans, and the 110mm CPU fan.

I have my E6750 OC'd to 3.4ghz, using an ACFP7! Seems to run okay... not too hot! LOL

Thats a really nice build, looks cool, i was goign to go for all the flashy fans and UV stuff, decided to leave it not, looks stealthy and all black in an Alu black Mirage case!

Very nice mate.

Wouldnt trust my chances with all those very expensive bits on your nice nylon mat ?!?!

The ACFP7 are b******s to get seated spot on. I had to fiddle with it 3 times and the difference in the temps was staggering. However is all good now.

However if the Zalman works better for you great! Rig looks good. Just a few fans ;)

See, nice kit, but just why? That's going to make a horrendous racket! Lol.

Not really..

The GTX will probably be the "loudest" thing. By the look of it the case fans are Akasa (which are VERY quiet) and the Zalman won't be that loud.

See, nice kit, but just why? That's going to make a horrendous racket! Lol.

All the fans are 120mm and quiet fans by the looks.

80mm fans = loud
80mm quiet fans = quiet but f**k all air movement
120mm quiet fans = quiet with good air movement

= cracked it :D

  Better than yours. C*nt.

3x120mm quiet fans with advanced controller and rubber mounted pump + a few water blocks = no air movement in the case and the noisiest things are the 8 hard disks...

No need for that many fans IMO, massive overkill.

I run mine at 3.5Ghz and have done for a months months with a Freezer cooler, Push and pull 120MM fan configuration and the PSU doing some work as well. Runs solid as a rock
