New camcorder

  HyperAlloy Combat Chassis
This is a video I took to try out my new camcorder (my first) and a mount I made for it. Nothing special, went for a drive down the A82 and then over the military road. Didn't really get going until the last couple of minutes, stuck behind some guy in a diesel escort. He was kaning it in places though, it was smoking like a b**ch. Chopped together quickly in windows movie maker.

Aye, it's just along the road m8. Go down great western road and......don't get off lol. Keep going straight past clydebank, dumbarton, balloch, helensburgh then you can turn left onto the military road. Well worth a blast but take it easy at first it's got lots of odd cambers and corners. Finish it off by turning right at the end and go along the loch side to arrochar

Any chance of posting a pic of the camera mount and also what camcorder you are using?

Picture quality is good, camera isnt shaking and the camera mount position is perfect.

Love that military road as well, its just a bit special :D

Thanks guys :) Was considering going again at 5am or something to get a clear run.

The first track is from Heat, the sequence where Pacino chases bobby D down the freeway. The second one is....top gun of course. Thought it went with the whole shades thing.

Here's the camera mount as requested:

Supporting my lovely Canon MV960 :) Google video doesn't do it justice.

It's easy to make. I bought a 1m length of aluminium from B&Q (£5), a cheap tripod from ebay (£5) and some 4mm screws and wing nuts. Took the legs off the tripod and it handily had a 4mm screw hole at the bottom, so just drilled a hole and screwed it on. Drilled 3x 4mm holes in each length of aluminium and then used screws and wing nuts to tighten around headrest. I used foam tape on the inside so it grips. Camera can be pointed in any direction as well as up and down. £50 + delivery was a little pricey I felt for a professional camera mount, so I cooked this up in about an hour.

I like it when you go past the recomended 20mph signs for the left hander ;)

There are some pretty dodgy crests on that road, especially the one that appears to be at a junction
