dunno, probably as i guess theyd change some other stuff, eg colour etc.

dunno?! be nice to know for sure though

Well, 8bhp dont sound much - but I bet its quicker than the 172.. who knows, it might actually MAKE 180.. Now that would be nice.. hehe.

well i know of someone who is expecting to order the 182 shortly if all things go according to plan

assuming he hasnt changed his mind again

Keeping the 1.2 til then?? ;)

182??? wonder if its just mods like induction kits and zorsts?? Then we could upgrade 172s with the same mods??

Why would Ren go to all the bother of remarketing the whole car again for such a small gain??? But then again they like to p*** off their existing loyal customers by out dating their cars quickly...if they sold decent upgrades for their cars Im sure lots of us would buy them if they were reasonably priced..

Is this really coming? Or is bam trying to wind ppl up? I thought they were stopping making the mark 2 Clio next year and the Cup in a few months?

im not sure if it is a UK model but there is a clio 182 available at a cost of around £15,000

this is not a wind up

citroen do this already, they sell 130bhp cars and market them as 120, the opposite to what reno do seemingly with some recent cars!

Well I followed that liknk and saw that for E20,850 or E19,000 you had a choice of either a 2.0 16v or Ragnotti with either 120kw or 124kw.

Surely thats what were on about here?

Just chip yours and put on a decent zorst...

you should then be making 180 reno horses

172ps = 169 metric (or something) hp = 166 electric hp = 124kW

VivJ- It says Renault are making a more powerful "172" to counter Peg gti 180, called 206 RC in Europe.

oh, thanx RPM!!!

My sister test drove a pug 206, 180 and she said it wasnt any faster than my Clio....and she had trouble reaching across to the gear stick coz the side of the bucket seat got in the way.....she is very small though.

2 versions for tax purposes in certain countries.

Heres an altavista translation of that page;

price: ~21 000 €
production: not limited
marketing: at the end of 2003 - at the beginning of 2004 (?)

In order to counter the 206 RC, Renault Sport envisaged in its paperboards a last evolution of CLIO RS. This CLIO RS phase 3 should be born at the same time or a little after a general rehandling of range CLIO (without major aesthetic modification).
Probably equipped with 180 cv to pass by again symbolically in front of the 206, it should receive a new line of exhaust. That Ci will be finished by a double exit - finally apparent, distinctive sign of the models Renault Sport (CLIO V6, next Mégane RS...).
It should also have the right to travelling trains still optimized as well as new rims.

To summarize, CLIO RS phase 3 will bring:

No major stylistic evolution
- Double apparent exit of exhaust
- New rims 16"
- New colours

Small evolution engine
- New line of exhaust

Evolution frame
- Probable optimization of the travelling trains

Photo Ci above was taken at Renault Sport (dept 91). This CLIO RS "phase 2" Iceberg gray must be used for the validation of the new line of exhaust...

Information diffused here are not official: they are assumptions and the summary of rumours;)

So do I... or near as damn it...

152bhp @ wheels >>> 15% loss >>> 179bhp @ fly

Some 172 cups on this forum have 184BHP at the fly any way - whats the point! Like the twin zorsts though! New clio out early next year so we could have a final incarnation of the Mk3 by Crimbo maybe - damn!

 172, Tiguan

The exhaust on that silver supposed 180 or whatever was photoshopped.

This was disscussed a few months back i think.
