New clutch on 182

Just been told my 182 will need a new clutch!!!!

Anyone else had this done and how much did you pay???

Been told £675 by Renault

Yikes how many miles has the car done? How about a Renault specialist like rentech or yozzasport etc. Or buy the plate from the dealer and get a local garage to do it.

i would take the 182 back to the garage you got it from if you didnt buy it privately.

You should have some warranty cover for a car that age from any garage.They usually do 12 months

Don't think so. He got me a years extra warranty through Renault on top of the remaining 3 months standard renault warranty. But they told me the clutch isnt covered.

dont take that, kick up a fuss and threaten them with trading standards/solicitors and they will soon sort it for you as i have just found out when dealing with arnold shark!

Seeing as he hasnt brought it from renault, renault customer services will laugh in his face anyway, who knows who the previous owner has been up to.

Schweppy - whats wrong with the clutch?, my brother, Big Lee on here has just had his clutch replaced under warranty for a problem with vibrations through the clutch pedal when the engine/gearbox was warm.

you usually get a minimum of a 3 month warranty from garages on second hand cars

Waste of time! unless the clutch explodes or something it will never be covered by a renault or third party warranty. it wear and tear. simple as that is what they will say and unfortunately thats it! been there got the t shirt!

Right well i picked up the car this morning. It was in for an exhaust mount replacement under warranty but asked them to look at clutch as it is stiff makings wierd squeaking noises. They told me yesterday that it need replacing at £675!!! However today, they are saying that it prob has 10-15000 miles left in it so doesnt need doing yet!!! What you guys think??? I may take it somewhere else for a second oppinion.

if you moan about your back boxes fella they will get replaced under warrenty i little bird has told me other wise they will fall off in a month or so my sources tell me.

yea its fine to drive, basically the bearing wears out and distortes under pressure,

does it sound like a rattle snake?

if it IS the release bearing then it will last for ages but will sound cronic!

take it in if its under warrenty

the sound is a grinding , rubbin sound
