just upgraded my cpu i have now a AMD 64 .4400 dual. is there a program i can download to make sure both cores are runing ok.cus i didnt format the pc after puting it in.some told me that it might not work properly..thx
First off Zack, I'd definitely recommend a reformat. Any major piece of hardware fitted should be followed by a clean format. Irons-out so many issues.
There's an updated AMD clock utility that tells you the core speeds on the CPU and also the MUST have utility - the dual core optimiser. Both can be found at the following link...
Hey, right click my pc, go properties, under the hardware tab, click 'Device manager' and the first device is computer +that if it says multiprocessor pc then your ok, if not then windows hasnt reconized ur dual core. Screen shot below showing.
Also I use a widget that monitors each core and tells the % each one is working at.

I've got the Logitech G15 Gaming keyboard - you can download a visual display applet from AMD for it. Cycles through to show you core usage, memory usage, etc. Cool piece of software.
I thought about getting that one, but didnt see the sense of having a display that told me how many bullets I have left in CS when Im looking at the screen the hole time
