New discs. Need a good look

  1.6 16v clio priv
Right my car needs some new discs and pads. Just had some mint looking tsw freeze alloys so now you will see a lot of the disc i want nice looking ones. I like black diamond but I know they dont stay black. Looking for some 6-10 grooved and X-drilled. Whats available, and where do I get it from at a good price.

Also thinking of upgrading the rear drum brakes to discs. So anyone know whats involved/how effective it is.

You don't need fancy stuff its only trouble and no better. Get the k-tec big disk conversion if you want something which looks better.
Forget the back brake conversion its not worth the hastle plus I prefere drums and ther fine for track use on cars with over 200hp

I think the brembro 4 pots are a little overkill for what im going to use it for. Like i said i'm mainly after looks. Would like some improved braking but mainly its ther look im after. Thankks edde for the drum comment. Didnt think they would make much difference but thought I'd ask anyway. Would it make a difference to say I have a fair amount of weight in the boot. Basically I need new discs. My main requirement is something that looks better. The car will never be used on the track its road only. (Unless i win the lottery but then I wont be asking for the cheapest supplier)
The red calipers are a no no. Car is silver. Blue goes much better. Thinking of painting the existing calipers in blue.
Any thoughts

personally - silver or black for me if you paint them.

i went against eddes advice (foolishly lol) and got some brembo max discs with pagid max pads. i think they work much better than the standard renault ones, and arent that much more.

if you want it to stop then go for a big brake conversion, otherwise find some discs that look nice, but i'll agree if its for looks then its a waste of money :)

Definately a waste looking on k-tec now the 4 pot conversion for my car (1.6 16v) is 857.75 if I fit it myself. ( which aint a problem but its more ball ache)

Some nice looking X-drilled discs with pads are 128.08

My oppinion is (and i will admit this is not backed by track experience) if your wheels will lock under braking you need more grip at the tyres first or better brakes will only lock the wheels easier. All you really need in this instance is fade resistance.

Big brake converison no better ds2500 pads or 4 pots are the best upgrade.

4 pots are for proper fast cars ie the Mk1's the mk2 owners sem to want to look like us though.
There about £350 for the kits all in. You don't need the bigger fancy disks.
