New exhaust = different idling revs

Ok, I have just put an aftermarket exhaust on my car, and I was wondering if this would affect the car in anyway. This is particularly addressed to the 182 chaps with after market exhausts.

I am not sure if its coincedence or not, but it seems to be idleing round about, or sometimes below 1000rpm, and the engine management light has just come on (which I am sure is nothing to do with the exhaust).

Is it possible I need a remap? Or should everything be fine still?

should tick over the same. wonder if you have a lambda issue hence the idle it hasnt gone into limp mode has it ?

tbh might be temp sensor, they arent uncommon to be faulty and can effect the running/idle.

I think the lambda is ok, as you can feel it change after about 200/300 yards from cold, the idle goes up slightly, but is still low.

any issues with the temp gauge or any smoke ? tbh id be inclined to go and have it put on the diagnostic machine at the dealer. May just be a software glitch.

The idle on my 182 does seem to be more lumpy since I have had my after market exhaust (SS custom exhaust with standard cat).

Was not sure if it just seemed that way due to it being louder. But I think it still idles at the same speed and I do not get any warning lights.

I assume that there will be less back pressure. Perhaps someone more technical then me can explain this effect.

No, it has a sports cat. Idleing is more lumpy, but thats fine, it was never perfect before, you can now hear just the "lumps" better. I was idleing at the lights once and turn the A/C on, it almost stalled.

Anyway, the car has gone in today, we shall see what they say.

Well apparently it is the exhaust. The cat is causing problems. Something about the downstream oxygen flow being wrong. 491 mv. So to continue work they want the Renault one back on.

I have the car back now and the engine management light is off again. Have done 2 journeys since and it hasnt come back on. So while it continues fine, I wont worry. Next step obviously is to talk to Charlie, but I am hoping it wont come to that now. Oh, and I have no idea what make the cat is...
