new exhaust problem

Anyone had a SPORTEX exhaust fitted?

Just had one put on my 172 but it sounds the same as when I had no back box on! Is this normal (it is bloody loud) or does it need running in??

Anyway of silencing it?

If its loud now it'll probably get slightly louder after its been on a while . All aftermarket exhausts are louder than the standard exhaust in varying degrees , even those that claim to be the same as standard from what i've read on here do seem to have a slight increase in noise .

You might be able to get a silencer box fitted before the back box , better off speaking to somebody who fits exhausts or try giving this a bell .
