New False Floor

  Nike Lunar Elite's

Good job mate. What have you covered the flase floor with? Are you still interested in the sub and amp?

Looks good, much better than the normal floor, but does it not weigh a lot (thus making it pointless in removing the back seats? I realise you have harnesses so back seats would be pointless anyway but still. MDF aint light.

hydeyho - Its covered with normal car carpet. Ive ordered a new sub and amp today so i dont need yours. Thanks for the pictures and everything though.

Guilbert - It is heavy yes. I cant have rear seats anyway because the Cobras dont recline therefore i wouldnt be able to get anyone in! I just made it to tidy up the rear really and its a good base to mount amps and speakers when i get round to them. Also ive made it so it can be taken out quite easily if i ever feel like it.

Pete. What do you mean by enclosures? If you mean are they boxed in underneath then, no they arent.

If you want to improve the quality of the sound from the 6x9s then making an enclosure around the back of them will help.

Very nice job. It looks much better! well done.

The only thing I would say is that it would be better to have the harness mounting points inline with the centre of the seat itself. They look as though in the event of an accident, they would pull unevenly on your shoulders? unless they re adjusted perfectly.

I guess you have used the existing seatbelt mounting positions for them at the moment?

Is it possible for you to re-drill the mounting holes for the harnesses, and use a mounting plate for the eyebolt to fit into?

Its just a suggestion.

Best Regards,

Chris.

Cheers for all your comments!

Pete - Thanks i didnt know that. Ill have to make some in the future.

Chris - I have ajusted the straps so they pull and evenly as they can. I would like to move the mounts into the middle but its a big job. Also id trust the mounts put there by Renault alot more than some i made.

No probs it will basically work like a sub box with enclosures behind it.

Chris - Cheers. Ill look in to it.

Pete - Does the box need to be ported or is a sealed one ok? Are there any volumes i have to work to or will any size box do the job? I presume by doing all this i will get more bass from the 6x9s.
