New gearbox adjustment.

Fitted a gearbox from a 172 ph1 on me 172 cup and today when I selected reverse I got reverse. When I selected 1st I got reverse. Adjusted the selector to the gear stick linkage and I still couldn't get it right. Has anyone got a guide on how to do it? I referred to a Haynes manual for every mk2 Clio bar all sport models and it made me go a little cross eyed. I got the basic jist of it but if anyone has any advice it would be very welcome. Thanks in advance.

I thought the ph2 box would be better for 0-60 times.
