New Hankook track tires?

  Rusty Cup
Im pretty sure these have been around since early this year, but ive heard nothing of them and seen even less lol. They look frickin amazing, did some hunting but cant seem to find them on sale in this country :(

Wonder how they fair against similar road legal track tires.

Doubt they'll bother bringing them over with the new legislation coming in early next year. Just put some RS2's on today, be trying them properly on Tuesday at Oulton.

You finally found some at a price you were willing to pay then? Have fun at Oulton - I'm jealous.

Not as cheap as camskill, but thought I'd bite the bullet. Won't use them day to day, tread pattern wouldn't fill me confidence on a wet mway!

I can understand that! Lots of standing water relegates me to the slow lane! Let me know how you find them.

Looking at the rs2, water drainage was clearly not a priority. Understandable, as they wouldn't hold up as well on track. Mine will stay purely for track use, nice to have a tyre I won't be of scared of drivng home from a track day if it's raining though lol.

Can't understand why I use mine everyday and find them fine.

To me there just stiffer road tyres.

:)

Yep, no worries everyday - great in the dry and good in the wet. I still won't be driving through standing water at high speeds though.

The Kumho V70A's I ran for a while aquaplaned at 60 in torrential rain, I'm pretty sure the Hankooks could do the same at 70+. I am talking extreme conditions here though.

f**k me. Some epic rain on the b-roads back from work, 50miles of pitted, rutted tarmac, lots of standing water. They were pretty poor TBH, but then I wasn't expecting anything else. If it's just wet (ie not puddles and standing water) they are very good, but not with standing water.
